The former Neighbours star was thrust into the spotlight this month after starring a multi-million dollar Tourism Australia campaign, to try and lure Brits Down Under.

Kylie, who says she’s ‘always felt like an ambassador for Australia’, fronted the $15million advertising campaign, which was released last week.

Among the famous faces are cricket legend Shane Warne, Olympic champion Ian Thorpe and world number one tennis player Ash Barty.

Kylie’s role served as a career retrospective of sorts, as she reprised iconic characters including Charlene from Neighbours.

The songstress climbed back into mechanic Charlene’s trademark overalls and baggy sweatshirts for the shoot – even reviving her questionable ’80s perm.

She told News Corp: ‘The recreation of Charlene is one that I didn’t see coming! It was totally surreal and when I walked on set with the curls, the overalls and that scrunchie, it was like having an out of body experience. Charlene was back!’

‘Any Brits who are old enough to remember Charlene will hopefully love it.’

‘The film is full of little jokes, and those self-deprecating moments, alongside the competitive rivalry references and banter that really defines the loving relationship Australia has with the UK.’
